Abstract:
Cultural tourism is a significant industry locally and globally. It plays a vital role in community development and prosperity and connecting individuals to their heritage. The landmarks and archaeological sites of the Hail region are among the most important in Saudi Arabia. Digital media is a crucial tool for promoting tourism and raising awareness about these historical sites. This study aims to determine the role of digital media in the cultural develo-ment of Hail's landmarks. A key finding was that a high percentage of participants obtained information about these sites through digital media. Historical and cultural information was the most sought-after, with 74.8% of the sample obtaining it from digital sources. The results also confirmed a strong relationship between participants' improved knowledge of Hail's landmarks and their exposure to digital media, underscoring the significant role of digital media in fostering the cultural development of the region's heritage sites.
